Stowe Place Newhaven Affordable Housing

A development scheme has been created for the former Newhaven Police Station site. The scheme, designed to provide 100% affordable housing for Lewes District Council, consists of nineteen one and two-bedroom apartments and two three-bedroom houses for eligible local residents.

The scheme's design, which is configured over three and four storeys, aims to break up the mass of all the elevations by using different materials, such as contrasting buff and blue brick elements. It features a combination of recessed internal and external balconies, glazing and fenestration of differing proportions, textured brickwork around the fenestration, and perforated brick features to add variety and visual interest.

The development incorporates appropriate energy-efficient technologies to reduce carbon dioxide emissions. Solar photovoltaic panels have been used to produce a renewable energy source.
