Shared "Gatehouse" Reception Sussex Police and East Sussex Fire & Rescue Service

The “Gatehouse” building is a small single storey brick structure with a mono-pitched roof. The public facing elevation is currently largely blank with only one small window opening.

The works to the entrance “Gatehouse” building involve the addition of a small front extension. This will be a glazed, flat roofed addition providing a formal entrance to a new reception and waiting area. In addition new glazed panels will be introduced in the front elevation either side of the extension.

At the rear, the existing openings will be replaced with glazed openings, with the exception of one set of doors that will simply be replaced with powdered coated aluminium doors. Internally the building will be converted to create a new reception, waiting area, meeting rooms and WC.

In front of the building, to its south east it is proposed to create a new area of visitor parking, consisting of an ‘in’ and ‘out’ arrangement off the existing entrance drive, with 8 new parking spaces, including one disables parking space.
